This funding is specifically intended to help counties hire a qualified contractor and cover other associated costs with a county-wide CWPP update. Counties must have a CWPP that is <strong>more than five years old<\/strong> (preferably 10) and <strong>commit to a collaborative engagement process<\/strong> to qualify. Preference will be given to counties with a high wildfire risk, as determined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/mwra-mtdnrc.hub.arcgis.com\/\">Montana Wildfire Risk Assessment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Counties can prepare their application <a href=\"http:\/\/dnrc.mt.gov\/divisions\/forestry\/docs\/fire-and-aviation\/prevention\/2022_cwpp_rfp_worksheet.docx\">using this worksheet<\/a> (also attached)<br \/>\n***HOWEVER***<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>The application for CWPP update funding should be submitted via the<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.dnrc.mt.gov\/submit\/226115\/forestry-cwpp-2022\"><strong><em>DNRC\u2019s submittable application portal<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (answers on the worksheet may be copy &amp; pasted in)<\/li>\n<li>For the strongest application possible, we recommend that counties refer to the DNRC\u2019s new <a href=\"http:\/\/dnrc.mt.gov\/divisions\/forestry\/docs\/fire-and-aviation\/prevention\/2022_mt_cwpp_guideline_final.pdf\">CWPP update booklet<\/a> as they develop their application<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">DUE JULY 31, 2022<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For future reference, all of these materials can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/dnrc.mt.gov\/divisions\/forestry\/fire-and-aviation\/fire-prevention-and-preparedness\/home-fire-risk\/request-a-site-visit\">DNRC\u2019s Prevention and Preparedness<\/a> page, in the \u201cPublications\u201d section on the right hand side under \u201cFor the planners and professionals.\u201d Any questions can be directed my way!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks,<\/p>\n<p>Julia Berkey<br \/>\nCommunity Preparedness &amp; Wildfire Prevention Program Manager<br \/>\nOffice: 406-542-4221 | Cell: 406-361-5947<br \/>\n2705 Spurgin Rd.
