DNRC Request for Proposals for Community Wildfire Protection
The RFP for counties to apply for funding for their CWPP updates has been released! This funding is specifically intended to help counties hire a qualified contractor and cover other associated costs with a county-wide CWPP update. Counties must have a CWPP that is more than five years old (preferably 10) and commit to a collaborative engagement process to qualify. Preference will be given to counties with a high wildfire risk, as determined by the Montana Wildfire Risk Assessment.
- Counties can prepare their application using this worksheet (also attached)
***HOWEVER*** - The application for CWPP update funding should be submitted via the DNRC’s submittable application portal (answers on the worksheet may be copy & pasted in)
- For the strongest application possible, we recommend that counties refer to the DNRC’s new CWPP update booklet as they develop their application
- DUE JULY 31, 2022
For future reference, all of these materials can be found on the DNRC’s Prevention and Preparedness page, in the “Publications” section on the right hand side under “For the planners and professionals.” Any questions can be directed my way!
Thanks,
